March 8th Kem Jones is arranging a yahoo chat site. This would be of value to people who want to communicate together about traveling together, meeting places and things of common interest. If you would like to be part of this exciting group contact Kem at kemjones2003@yahoo.ca
I don't belong to any chat groups or face book but I will join this as I think it will be a great help with individual planning especially for the journey to Newfoundland.
March 5th We are ordering the tour licence plates with the individual tour numbers on them. We will order a limited amount of collector plates with 2010 as the number, if you are interested in one of these plates the pe-order cost is $22.00, they are high quality, the back ground is reflective and they are made by one of the largest licence plate manufacturers in North America (Canadian made) The order is going in soon so let us know, I put a photo of one at the top right hand side of this page. Send the money to Linda.

Rudy Croken's email address is rcroken@pei.sympatico.ca please contact him if you would like information about the PEI Lobster Supper, the Buddy Holly Story (there isn't a Anne of Green Gables play while we are there) and the deep sea fishing experience.
Hello All
I have agreed to look after the Lobster supper, Buddy Holly play and the deep Sea Fishing for the Tour. I will be in contact as soon as I firm up some numbers. I will not need a cheque for the Lobster Suppers, only a number to determine what price they will give us. I will need a cheque for the Buddy Holly Play and Deep Sea Fishing and will let you know the amount and who to make the cheques out to when we reach the Group rate level.
Thanks

We still have rooms left for July 11th. I would suggest you ask them to call us asap! The rate would be $130.00 for a king deluxe on the waterside and $125.00 doubles on the front. We would honor the same as we do for the bikers. We would give a $10.00 discount. sincerely yours, Ina Scott
And this for Winnipeg
Hi Fraser: I wanted to let you know that I booked a room for ourselves and 3 other couples at the Super 8 West- 101 By-Pass & Portage West - 3760 Portage Ave. Phone# 204-831-9800 . Rate of $87.59. We are familiar with this facility and it is acceptable and the price is very reasonable for Winnipeg. You may consider adding this motel to the Winnipeg site as I believe most motelers would find it acceptable. It is also in the same general location as the campground. I did tell them we were part of the Coast to Coast 2010 group and they have that on record. All Coasters will get this rate. As we are there for 3 nights it would be nice to have everyone in the same location. I hope this is helpful.

I recieved this from Rudy in PEI, we need to get some numbers soon. Time is running out for many bookings and unless we know, you will be left out and there are no last minute chances
I need to get an idea of how many want to go to the lobster supper to get a group price. Also whether we are going to try to organize a group rate for the theatre or Deep Sea Fishing or let people look after their own, a little more expensive that way. .
The two of these that would be good to book early, cost wise, is probably the Fishing as it saves $7.50 a person, and the theatre as prices run from $39 to $62 on your own.
5 PM Supper at Fishermen’s Wharf Lobster Supper, we will meet in the front parking lot of Marco Polo Campground at 4:00 pm and go down as a group.
Thursday, July 15 7:30 PM - Attend “The Buddy Holly Story” at Confederation Centre in Charlottetown or spend an evening on your own.
** Group rates are available for 20 people or more with Balcony seats priced at $31.60, mid theatre $39.60 to 44.40; rows 6 to 8 theatre $50; and front of Theatre $44.40. These must be booked and paid for as a group, 20 days in advance. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy but a $3 cancellation fee applies.
Friday, July 16, 2010
Option 2- Graham’s Deep Sea Fishing and Scenic Tour out of StanleyBridgeHarbour or New LondonHarbour. They go out 3 times a day, 8AM –Noon, 1:30PM to 5PM and 6 PM to 9:30PM. The cost is $650 to charter the boat for 20 people so $32.50 each or if we don’t charter it is $40 per person. I will book the boats as needed and will fill them starting with the earliest sail unless people indicate a later time.
January 25th We have had the campground in Antigonish cancel our reservation do to a local event, we now will be staying in Linwood (about 30 Km East) I have put out some feelers to get Motels closer to the campsite, as soon as I receive a reply I will post it.
January 18th The Marine Atlantic 2010 site is now excepting reservations, you can do it online at http://www.marine-atlantic.ca/en/reservations/reservations.shtml
Their phone number is 1-800-341-7981
January 15th I haven't had enough interest to make group reservations for the ferry to Newfoundland. I had only 18 people in total contact me. Everyone is responsible for their own reservations. The trip from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia is looked after so you don't need to worry about that reservation, as soon as we get the price quote from Marine Atlantic we will post the amount so it can sent to Linda and Judy.
January 5th, 2010 Happy New Year to all, especially those still in the project stage like me....
Times a ticken now, we only have six months before the big tour. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm doing some work for the BC Ambulance service for the 2010 Olympics so my postings here may be a bit spotty, but I'll get any important information on here as it happens.....
December 17th I also spoke with Marine Atlantic this morning and they will start to take reservations after the middle of January. I will keep you informed when they open it up. The trip from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia is first on the reservation list and this is done, but individuals need to make the reservations to the Island, if you can put together groups of 25 people or more (that's 13 cars with 2 people) there is a discount.
They all must be on the same ferry sailing. Please check their web site to see what information you need to reserve. A reservation is a must as they no longer take people that just drive up to the ship.
www.marine-atlantic.ca
I've added a list at the bottom of this page where I can add people who want to travel to Newfoundland as a group.
December 15th
I'm back and bringing some things up to date. There is more information on the tour agenda page for Manitoba and Ontario. The motels in Cypress River need to be reserved soon as we are there the same weekend as their homecoming reunion.
On another note, being a Coordinator has not been an easy task, we have only so many days and a lot of places to see, the number one request when we asked for input way back in 2008 was people wanted to see more of the East Coast and to spend more time in Quebec, to accommodate these requests we needed to take time from other locations. These decisions were reviewed several times by our 6 person committee and changes and allotments were not taken lightly but in order to have a smooth running tour our decisions need to be final. I have to say that we budgeted our time with the input of all that sent emails and also those who took the time to write letters. It is going to be a great tour, a few days need a longer than normal drive, but there is nothing longer than the drives done on the 2000 tour.

I received this today. This will help a lot. Thanks Wayne
As per our conversation I have set up your promotion code and discounted rates for our online booking system.
The promotion code is Coasters10.
Each guest can go to our website www.bestofbanff.com and book with their credit card based on availabilities.
Guests will get 10%off our website rates by using this promotion code.
Unfortunately we do not take bookings for Arrow motel on our website.
I recommend the Driftwood Inn $99.00 + tax as this hotel is much nicer than Arrow Motel and definitely worth $10.00 extra.
If your guests would like to book Arrow Motel with the rate of $88.00, please advise your guests to contact me by E-mail tmiyamoto@bestofbanff.com or calling to 403-760-7595!
The individual guest can start booking now!
Also I just wanted to let you know that our rates may go down sometime next year (No Guarantee).
So you and your guests can keep an eye on our website rates and if the rates become lower, each guest could let me know anytime and I would be more than happy to change the rates for them!
If you have any questions or concerns please let me know!!
October 30th Camping and some other fees are in so you can do some budgeting. I am still waiting on a few campgrounds and I'm sure meals and tours will change a bit, but I don't pedict these will change a lot: Camping: $1,275.00 this is for all 47 nights so they are averaging a little over $27.00 a night, we are in prime camping time so gettind discounts is tough. In some we may need to double up to accomadate us all. If there is dry camping without facilities I will give an optional campsite close by. I only have three more prices to come in so it won't vary a lot. Meals: $65.00 Fourteen so far Tours: $85.00
These are OPTIONAL costs and you need not join the group. I will give a complete break down when the information is available.
We still don't have any of the Ontario costs so these will increase somewhat
October 28th OK Coasters get out your musical instruments. we need people that can play some music at the get togethers and add a little joy and good times. I know there is a lot of hidden talent hiding in the wings so let's get it together and let the good times roll.
October 24th
I've increased the size of the photo's on the Coasters and their Cruisers page so they are easier to see

October 12th Registrations for the tour will close on Friday October 16th at 12 noon Pacific time.
October 9th As you can see, other than Ontario, we have most of the information from the Provinces and it is posted on the Tour Agenda page. We do have one glitch for campers and this is Shubie Campground in Halifax they do not have any 15 amp service sites left only 30 amp sites. We do have 68 dry campsites booked, so if you want full hookups contact Shubie Park toll free at 1-800-440-8450before October 12th to reserve a full service site http://www.shubiecampground.com/ .The dry campsites do have washrooms and showers. October 7th As of October 1st, we have 110 fully paid Coasters, 83 Campers and 27 using Motels. This may effect the motel rates as we originally booked for 40 so be prepared. This is a little more manageable and over our original estimate of 100. There is 87 going Coast to Coast, this is quite a number. We will still entertain a few more registrations as there is room. Additional tour charges (other than the ferry they are optional) Ferry - As soon as we receive the cost from Marine Atlantic we will inform participants. (we will book the ferry from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia, make your own reservations from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland. They will start taking reservations in November) Tours - We have a couple of bus tours arranged and events like the Anne of Green Gables musical will be available at a group ticket price. Meals - We have some meals supplies by clubs or groups that are a minimal charge. Camping - We are getting some good discounts at some campgrounds and these will be passed on to tour members, the camping package will also include some free nights. As we are one night wonders at campsites we will not be able to get full services at all sites and some are dry camping. If it is a must that you have full hook ups, we will do our best to make those arrangements and list the couple of campsites that don't offer full services. We are curently looking at approximatley $1000.00 for camping on the entire tour, a little less than $20.00 per night. I wish this program had spell check

The map for New Brunswick is posted on the "Tour Agenda" page. You will notice we are adding some alternate routes, Travel these and you can explore some very interesting parts of our country.
Sept 25th
I'm starting to get some headway with motel requests, Currently I'm negotiating with three large chains and blocking rooms in smaller communities where the larger motels don't exist. Give me another few days next week and we should have some information to post.
September 21st
We're back from our holiday and I'm answering several emails. I have posted pictures of coasters and their cruisers so we have now 37, there is a wide range of cars and owners it's very interesting and exciting to see things coming together.
I am finally getting some feed back from Motels and should be posting more information in the coming week. I removed the motel information from the web as I had an interesting sugestion from a Coaster to try and use only one motel at each stop. This should keep everyone in one place and make visiting and socializing a better experience. Campgrounds are almost all booked and I do have some sites at St. John's booked from the 2nd to the 6th for those that arrive early.
I have had several people contact me about traveling together to Newfoundland. If I get some intinerarys I can make some meeting places both in the US and Canada so people can join up. We also have some large decals for the back of your trailer, smaller ones for the back of your car that show you are a participant, other Coasters would see this and join with you for part of the way. I'll have a copy of one posted on the web site in the next week
September 12th
For those needing Hotel/Motel accomadations in St. John's
There is a large convention being held in St. John's the latter part of June and first part of July 2010. Many of the rooms in the hotel/motels that we have recommended in the St. John's area are being reserved for this convention.
We were successful in obtaining a block of 30 rooms at the Travellers Inn for July 4, 5, & 6, 2010 at a rate of $109.99 per night. These rooms have been reserved under "Coasters 2010" and the contact person is Colleen Youngberg, Sales Manager. The Travellers Inn is now accepting reservations for 2010. Anyone wishing to take advantage of these rooms should make reservations sooner rather then later. The very latest for reservations would be two months prior to the arrival date. Anyone requiring accommodations prior to the block dates should contact Colleen for availability and rates.

BC lowermainland Coasters, the get together date is changed to
August 29th
Several of the Province tour maps are posted, as well as their information. Remember click on the map and then when it opens click on it again, this will make a larger size.
August 27th
This morning I tried an experiment. I've taken the BC portion on the tour map and put it on the 'Tour Agenda' page. Go to the BC Tour Map icon and click on it, it will open up small, click on the picture and it should open up large enough for viewing. The small flag shows the overnight stops and the km's is the distance from the last overnight stop.
If you are registered and need some more decision time email us and let us know. We still have a couple of spcaes left on the tour so if you are interested in joining contact us.
August 26th
So I owe everyone an apology, I wrote the wrong amount down for the part way tour, it should read $300.00. Sorry about that team, anyone who sent in the extra $100.00 will have it refunded. I have also changed the child (young adult) age to 16, this is so people can bring a grandchild with them. I think it would be a great opportunity for them to travel and see our great county.
August 24th
I was asked for a 'Where They Coming From' count. Here it is a list of the registrations
Alberta 29, BC 41, Manitoba 2, New Brunswick 7, Newfoundland 11, Nova Scotia 15, New Zealand 1, Ontario 33, PEI 3, Quebec 1, Sasketchewan 4, United States 3,

Be sure to check out the 'Coasters and their Cruisers' page to see some of the great cars that will be on the tour.
August 22nd
Tour information for Nova Scotia is added to the "Tour Agenda" page
I remind you that the information on the tour agenda page is fairly basic at this time and will be added to as arrangemnts are confirmed. There is still a lot of information that needs tweeking, there are some routes that need to be confirmed but we can't do that until we have confirmation on the overnight facilities. When the tour stops in a town we need 100 campsites, 50 motel units, food facilities for 325 people, fuel for 150 vehicles and the other incidentals. We are 90% complete and working hard to have it under control by the first of the year. We also are dealing with several companies for thousands of lapel pins, hundreds of shirts, jackets, magnets, dash plaques, license plates, tour books, ferry reservations, vehicle shipping and a multitude of other things. We have all of this under contol and by the end of January all of the items will be stacked up in our basements so we can carry on with the final changes that are bound to be thrown at us. Remember we are also working on our cars to get them ready for the tour. It sounds like a lot of work, but we are getting a lot of help from our Provincial Coordinators and this has made the route part of the tour planning a lot easier for us. Everything is under control and we're having a good time putting it together, as the information is confirmed we'll pass it along, (it may change before the tour but it will be close) if you have sugestions, comments or need a question answered don't hesitate to contact me. fraser@coasters2010.com For you BC lowermainland Coasters, if someone would like to host a get together in October (not the long weekend) I can bring tour items from the 2000 tour and go over the 2010 tour in detail.
August 20th
On the 'Tour Agenda' page I've added a picture of the official tour licence plate. These first class plates will have your registration number on them. We will have limited extras produced so if you are a plate collector let us know. Information on the tour and tour routes is coming in and will be added as it is recieved and approved.
On September 4th, 5th and 6th the committee is meeting to do some finishing work on route and other tour related items. We will send final direction or changes to the Provincial Coordinators and post the information when it is recieved back.
August 18th
I've received a few emails about registration fees in regards to extra people, traveling part way and traveling with young people. Here is a completed fee structure. I have also added Newfoundland information on the 'Tour Agenda' page
Complete tour: vehicle and two people: $500.00
Single: with vehicle $300.00
Extra Adult: $200.00
Child 16 and under: $100.00 (T-shirt only no jacket or golf shirt)
Part way NOT including BC and NL: Vehicle and two people: $300.00
Extra Adult $150.00
Child 16 and under: $100.00 (T-shirt only, no jacket or golf shirt)
If part way includes BC or NL add $45.00 per person, except a child (no extra charge)
The BC and NL charges represent the cost of the meal, and the facilities rental for the days we are there.
August 9th
I have received this quote from East Can Transport: You can contact them direct. Toll Free : (800) 461 - 1991 St. John's, NL : (709) 722 - 1991
Halifax, NS: (902) 430 - 8999
I have worked out some preliminary numbers based on today's fuel costs , etc to be about $2728.00 per vehicle from Deroche, B.C. to St. John's, NL.
This rate is based on carrying 8 vehicles per load, and will apply for any vehicles coming from Alberta as well.
If there should be only 7 vehicles going on the load , then the rate will be about $3118.00.
These rates are for our open carrier service.
If you , and others, would like the enclosed service , we are limited to only 6 cars in this trailer, and the rate for this service would be about $4347.00 per car
We must have 6 cars for the enclosed service to work.
The rate will also apply to any cars returning to NL after the tour.
Our intent is to travel there in plenty of time to gather up all the cars and be back in St. John's on a specified date of your choosing. Please allow about 8 days from the time of pickup to arrival in St. John's. We can provide airport pickup service when the owners arrive, and take them directly to their cars at our yard.
July 28th
I was talking to one of the Coasters from the 2000 tour this morning and he was told we aren't exepting people who want to travel part way on the tour. This is wrong, we welcome you to spend a week or two with us. We need your start and stop location and this is on the registration form that was emailed/mailed out to participants that have a deposit paid for the tour. We especially would like to invite previous people who have traveled on one of the Coast to Coast tours to join us for even a day or two. If you can't, join us for a lunch stop or come and BS with the group at one of our nightly stops. If you hear negative rumours, contact me by email, I'll give you the real facts, or try and solve the problem. The committee is working hard to make this an eventful, fun and enjoyable tour.
On a brighter note, I received an email from EastCan transport and we should have a quote soon..
July 25th,
We have a new page, the one I've had so many emails asking about. This is the tour agenda page, it will show the province to province agenda. Saying that, there will be changes, so please look at it as good reliable information but don't get upset if things change a little. As I get the completed agendas from the Provincial Coordinators they will be added to the page. I must stress some of these are just the basic route and not the full agenda.. information will be added as it becomes available. Come on BC quit being a bunch of slackers.......
Go to the 'Tour Agenda' page and click on the Province's licence plate photo, the information about that Province will magically appear. You will see that there will be many optional tours, meals and events that you can partake in. We will be sending out a sheet in the next couple of months or in the new year where you can check off what you want to do, you may opt to just chill for a day or go on your own, the decision is yours.
On the end of each information page you will find camping information and a list of Motels. I urge you to book your motels or Bed and Breakfasts early, if you want to stay in a different campground you will need to make those reservations also, please let us know as we will be making group camping reservation at the selected campsites.

* Tour date: We LEAVE St Johns on the morning of the 7th, registration will be the 5th and the 6th.
* Shirts: I took this from the supplier page, Ladies yours will be an actual ladies shirt not a man's T, Golf shirts will be all golf shirts, I don't think they make a ladies and a man's. See sizing chart below... * Pictures: I'm posting the pictures that will be used in the tour book, so send yours in.See the page 'Coasters and their Cruisers' * I've sent an email to Eastcan Transport for a cost on vehicle transport so hopefully we get an estamate soon.
