Brandon Reunion

IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING PLEASE CONTACT US,

Nov 5/07 We are in the planning stages of a Reunion/get together in Brandon Manitoba on August 16th and 17th, 2008.  I realize this is a long way for Coasters from the East to travel, I was hoping they could plan an informal get together a little closer to home. We are hoping to lay some ground work for the 2010 tour during this event. Of course there will be a lot of other activities besides and lots of jawing time so we can discuss those "I remember when stories......"

Nov 6/07 Contact made with Dream Cruisers in Brandon. The Dream Cruisers gave us the Royal treatment, including an airport museum tour during the 2000 Tour. They are assisting with the planning of the Brandon Reunion.

Dec 1/07 The Dream Cruisers of Brandon contacted us and have invited us to their cruise and downtown car show on Thursday August 14th/08. Let's come a few days early and enjoy the hospitality. More information to follow.

Dec 23/07 We have only 8 Coasters that have expressed interest in attending the get together in Brandon. I would like a little more support so we can get some planning done..

Jan 26/08 We have the accommodations finally done and settled, The campground will be the Meadowlark Campground, ( www.meadowlarkrvpark.com ) we have 21 sites blocked, Call toll free 1-800-363-6434 tell them you are part of the Coaster Reunion. Don't register on line as it can't discern if you are a Coaster. Phone between February 20th and March 8th to confirm. The cost is $25.00 per day. The office will be closed from February 1st to 19th so call after that date. Motels: You have a choice of three motels that are very close to the Campsite Barney's Motel - 204-725-1540, Super 8 Motel (204) 729-8024, Comfort Inn Brandon (204) 727-6232, I haven't blocked any rooms in Motels as it's tough to pick which one. Those of you that want to be part of the Brandon Car show on Thursday August 14th and arrive early, we have the sites blocked from the 14th to and including the 17th. We would like a registration fee of $25.00 per person, don't want a T-shirt, deduct $10.00. Please mail this to Linda Orza, 5150 Six Mile Lane, Cranbrook, BC. V1C 7C2  before April 1st/08 so we can confirm attendance. Make them out to "Coasters 2010" Give your T-shirt size when registering.. any questions, email me. fraser'at'coasters2010.com

Jan 29/08 We have 30 33 35 37 registrations for the Brandon reunion

Feb 07/08  A reminder that there is a car show on the 14th in Brandon and we would like to put on a good Coasters show. We have several places, on the way there, where we can meet up with our old cars from Hope, BC on.

Feb 11/08 Brandon will also be a planning event, bring your plans and suggestions. We will have some maps, we can sit down and discuss some of the planning that has taken place and what we need to do. One of the issues that keeps surfacing is the US vs. the Northern Ontario route, all Canadian or shorter. That item should get things brewing. Speaking about brewing, the big coffee urn will be perking early in the morning and in the evening for those jaw sessions. We have a large grassy area that we can set up for our Coaster Community. We are planning other events to make the weekend fun.

April 21 We have some tentative plans, Thursday will be the local car show, this is very close to the camp ground and the Motels. We will have pastries, coffee, tea and juice all three days available at the campsite in the morning for a social light breakfast together. Friday night pot luck, we are trying to arrange a Saturday night BBQ. Friday is a free day but we hope to get some planning for the 2010 reunion done, so bring your ideas and plans. Saturday we are arranging a tour but we haven't received information from the local clubs yet. If there is something you would like to see or do in Brandon email me. MOSQUITOS !!! I just returned from Honduras and here is what we use, not one bite. We use permethrin on our clothes which last six washings and repels bugs. It has no smell. http://www.sawyer.com/products.htm#003  and then a spray called jungle juice 17.5% Deet. This combination is used by the US military with excellent results. I didn't get bit in the Jungle so it must work...

June 9  I was contacted by the Dream Cruisers in Brandon and we have a Saturday tour to the Aviation Museum. Everything is fitting together well, with lots of time for visiting and shooting the gab. Bring those tour books, photo's and memories get ready for hugs, laughs and tears. Remember I'm older but I haven't grown up any... A special welcome to the Coasters that didn't travel the 2000 but are ready for the 2010.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PLACES WE VISIT

Newfoundland the sheer size of this place. It’s as big as Japan and more than three times the size of the Maritime Provinces. St. John’s – the capital – is closer to Greenland than to New York, closer to Ireland than to Chicago and closer to Paris, France than to Vancouver, BC. It’s also the oldest city in North America. The province covers more than 400 000 square miles and the land ranges from barren rock to lush farmland to forest to fjord.  http://www.newfoundlandlabrador.com/Default.aspx Watch some of the videos, sights and sounds link, I like the Cupids one.
